Perhaps it is time to give lady liberty back?
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
When my ancestors made their way to America, they could have been turned away for a number of reasons. We have issues and we have things to work out but we should not cut off our noses to spite our faces. Re-posting The Tempest Tossed today was not to be lazy or to drive a thought into the ground but to remind us as we go vote, what is written at the base of our statue of liberty and what makes America great.
